About this activity

Join our local partner tour operator, ABCD Travels and team for a local cooking experience and learn how to make some of the daily meals enjoyed by people in the township. Our local families/ hosts will give us a background on what we will be cooking on the day, and provide us with cooking ingredients as well as the recipes. 

On the day you will learn how to make the following meals

  • Umfino – spinach mixed with maize meal 
  • Amanqina – Chicken feet
  • Umphokoqo – African Salad
  • Home Made Lamb stew 

 

These recipes are passed down to generations and are still enjoyed communally in the typical Xhosa home.

Wonderful Street Art Tour

We had an amazing Street Art Tour in Woodstock with Sal! We loved every bit of it and recommend this tour to everyone sjo wants to learn more about the rich variety of cultures and history of the Woodstock quarter.Steph R did the tour as a family - from Canton of Zurich, Switzerland
